I did lots of research about the certification rules all over the world, but the results were always incompleted. Today I got the whole datas from IFPI Yearbook, that I think everyone would be interested in. These are latest certification requirements for all the countries in the world with national recording associations.

Although Rudebox peaked No1 in many european countries such as UK, German and Denmark, it's weird that the album could be awarded 2Xplatium in just two weeks. Rudebox has been awarded 2Xplatium(600,000) by BPI in UK too, but the real sales number was just about 190,000 totally by now.
By the way, if U want to know the chart infos of your favourite singers on the UK album/single charts and Billboard, I'd like
to search it for U. Just leave Ur requests on my guestbook or email me. ![]() This month sees Robbie Williams' Rudebox become the fastest selling Platinum Europe album so far this year, while Muse and Scissor Sisters have also picked up honours. Robbie Williams cements his massive popularity across Europe with phenomenal sales of his latest album Rudebox. The title sold more than two million copies in October - despite being released in the last week of the month. Hot on the heels of a record sell-out world tour, the British star is set to release Lovelight, the second single from his new album, following the European success of title track Rudebox. This album is the seventh studio offering from the singer and promotes a more eclectic sound than previous releases, but one that is still obviously a hit with his army of fans.
The Scissor Sisters score a Platinum Europe double as both their first and second albums scoop awards. Scissor Sisters has now sold more than three million copies in Europe, while the band's hotly anticipated second album Ta-Dah has crossed the million mark. The American group burst onto the British scene with their eponymous debut in 2004 and follow-up Ta-Dah was released this September. I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - the first single taken from the new album - features the piano-playing skills of Elton John and was an instant hit across Europe. The band played a high-profile gig in London's Trafalgar Square in September and are about to embark on a UK tour.
Muse gain the first Platinum Europe Award for their album Black Holes and Revelations after it sold more than one million copies across the continent. The British three-piece from Devon formed at school in 1994 and this is their fourth album. The rock band is a festival favourite and Black Holes and Revelations was also nominated for this year's Mercury Music Prize. The July release has now sold throughout 19 European countries and the group won the Best Alternative Act gong at the recent MTV Europe Awards.

UMG Q3 Sales Down Despite gains from digital sales and higher license income in the United States, Universal Music Group saw revenues in the third quarter decline to €1.096 billion ($1.4 billion), down 2.1% from the same period last year.
The figure included a €36 million ($46 million) sum the company received from Bertelsmann following the September settlement of the Napster litigation. UMG cited unfavorable exchange rates for the dip.
UMG's digital sales during the period rose to 126 million, up 88% from the corresponding period last time, parent company Vivendi reported today (Nov. 7). Sales of digital music now accounts for 11.5% of total UMG revenue, with "strong growth" reported across both online and mobile fields.
Best-sellers during the three-month period included new releases from the Killers, Fergie, Scissor Sisters and Ludacris.
Over the first nine-months, UMG recorded a 2.7% rise in revenue to €3.298 billion ($4.22 billion), a result driven largely by digital, higher U.S. license income, greater music publishing sales and favorable currency movements.
VU today unveiled a 0.8% improvement in third quarter revenue to €4.889 billion ($6.2 billion). For the first nine months, VU generated sales of €14.462 billion ($18.52 billion), up 4.1% from the corresponding period in 2005.

Size-200k IFPI Platinum Europe Awards--June 2006![]() Five international artists scoop IFPI Platinum Europe Awards in the month of June, for album sales of one million or subsequent millions in Europe.
British sensation Corinne Bailey Rae burst onto the music scene early this year with her eponymous debut album. Released in February, Corinne Bailey Rae has now amassed more than one million sales across Europe, gaining the first Platinum Europe Award for the 27-year-old. The singer-songwriter from Leeds scored a UK download Number One with her first single Put Your Records On, and her album also shot to the top of the charts - making her only the fourth British female act in history to have her first album debut at Number One. The latest album from industry veteran Johnny Hallyday, Ma Vérité, also gains its first Platinum Europe Award, boosted by huge sales in his native France. This is his fourth album to achieve a Platinum Europe Award, and Hallyday has achieved five in total. Arguably the most successful male artist in France - where he has an incredible tally of 33 Number One singles - Hallyday has performed to over 15 million people during his illustrious 40-year career. American rapper 50 Cent picks up a second Platinum Europe Award for his 2003 album Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. The controversial star - real name Curtis Jackson - has since made his acting debut in a semi-autobiographical film of the same name. Growing up in New York embroiled in a culture of crime and drugs, 50 Cent got his music industry break when he was discovered by Eminem. Since then his career has rocketed and his most recent album, The Massacre, was America's second best-selling album of 2005. The Kaiser Chiefs' debut offering Employment has also crossed the two million sales mark in Europe, and gone an impressive six times platinum in the UK. Since the album's release in March 2005 the group have taken the live circuit by storm, cementing their increasing popularity. Their success culminated in two Brit Awards this year - for Best British Group and Best British Rock Act. The five-piece from Leeds were also nominated for last year's Mercury Music Prize, and are currently working on the follow-up to Employment. R.E.M. gain another Platinum Europe Award for The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003. The title has sold over three million copies across 19 European countries, going platinum or multi-platinum in 14. The hugely popular American group formed in 1980 at the University of Georgia, and have released 13 studio albums. This is their second best-of collection, released in October 2003, and features the hits Losing My Religion, Everybody Hurts, Man On The Moon and Nightswimming.
